Endoscopic SPY Imaging System
Endoscopic SPY Imaging System
SPY Imaging for Minimally Invasive Surgery
The Endoscopic SPY Imaging System is the only system available that combines best in class high definition visible imaging with the fluorescence imaging capabilities of SPY into a single system. SPY "scope" replaces the rigid endoscopes commonly used in endoscopic and single port surgeries performed today.
The Endoscopic SPY Imaging System consists of:
- A family of surgical endoscopes optimized for fluorescence and HD visible illumination and imaging
- A 1080i HD color camera with a video coupler that mounts on the endoscope eyepiece and is optimized for multimodal imaging
- An endoscopic light source and video processor capable of providing simultaneous real-time HD video color and fluorescence images
- The Fluorescence Imaging Agent and accessories
During its use, SPY scope illuminates the area of interest and the resulting color image is captured by the SPY scope camera system and displayed on the HD video monitor. If fluorescence imaging is desired, the imaging agent is administrered intravenously to the patient. The resulting fluorescence angioscopic images are then captured by the SPY scope camera, processed and displayed on the HD video monitor.
SPY scope can also provide simultaneous viewing of the white light color and fluorescence images. Based on surgeon preference, the resulting real-time HD images are displayed on the video monitor in either superimposed or individual color only or fluorescence only display modes.
SPY scope received premarket 510(k) clearance from the U.S. Food and Drug administration on July 9, 2009 for use in minimally invasive surgery.
