SPY Imaging for Open Surgery

The SPY Imaging System provides clinically relevant information that empowers surgeons to make better informed critical decisions in the operating room. SPY allows surgeons to capture, review, print and archive high-quality image sequences of blood flow in vessels and micro-vessels, tissue and organ perfusion within minutes and in real-time during the course of performing a wide variety of surgical procedures*. 

The SPY Intra-operative Imaging System consists of two unique components:
 

  • SPY intra-operative imaging system mobile unit
  • SPY accessory Paq which includes the custom sterile drape and the Fluorecence Imaging Agent

Features of the SPY system:

The SPY system is easily mobile from room to room. Set up can be managed by the operating room staff. The articulating arm and camera head are controlled by the surgeon. Image capture is accomplished in less than two minutes and images can be replayed immediately for review. The SPY system allows images to be archived or stored on the hospital PACs system for future reference. The SPY system involves no ionizing radiation and therefore does not require use of radiation protective gear.

Contents of the SPY Paq include:

  • Contents of the SPY Paq are used to perfom each SPY imaging procedure. Each SPY Paq contains 6 kits. Each Kit contains 1 individual vial Fluorescence Imaging Agent, 1 individual vial of sterile solvent and 1 custom Novadrape.
  • The Fluorescence Imaging Agent is supplied in individual 25mg vials. Each vial should be mixed with the entire contents of the sterile solvent and is suitable for capturing multiple images.
  • The Novadrape Custom Drape is designed to attach firmly to the SPY imaging camera head and articulating arm to prevent contamination of the surgical field. The custom optical window insures the highest quality image.

SPY imaging is cleared by the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for use during a variety of surgical procedures including coronary artery bypass, cardiovascular, plastic, reconstructive, micro and organ transplant.
